The wood structure is starting to rise for the four-story residential development at 410 China Basin Street in Mission Bay, San Francisco. The project, dubbed Block 9 in the neighborhood master plan, broke ground in November of last year, with the event announced by Mayor London Breed. BRIDGE and Community Housing Partnership are joint developers for the project.
New building permits have been filed to prepare the property at 470 West San Carlos for construction in Downtown San Jose. The development was last covered by SFYIMBY ahead of project review by the San Jose Planning Commission. The developer, Urban Catalyst, is proposing a six-story assisted living facility consisting of 116 units.
While sales for housing on Yerba Buena Island are underway, the first sign of concrete is finally visible on Treasure Island. The first of many buildings to come is rising at parcel C3.2, a 100% affordable housing development called the Maceo May Apartments. Its 105 units are a fraction of the largest master plan for residential construction in the Bay Area. The approximately 8,000-unit plan for the two islands is being developed by Treasure Island Community Development (TICD), a partnership with Stockbridge Capital Group, Wilson Meany, and Lennar Corporation.
Development plans have been approved for constructing the BioMed Emeryville Center of Innovation at 5300 Chiron Way, Emeryville. The project proposal includes the demolition of two existing buildings and surface parking and the construction of four new multi-tenant research and development buildings as a part of the implementation of the Emeryville Life Sciences Center Planned Unit Development (PUD), also referred to as The Chiron.
The preliminary project assessment application has been closed as plans advance for the six-story mixed-use building at 80 Julian Avenue, to be called The Village, in the Mission District, San Francisco. Friendship House, the project lead, describes The Village as a unique urban proposal, an inter-tribal community coalition center for Native organizations and groups serving the city’s Indigenous population.
