Plans Shift To Retail-Only For 2055 Chestnut Street in Marina District, San Francisco

Plans for a mixed-use redevelopment at 2055 Chestnut Street in San Francisco’s Marina District appear to have been nixed in favor of expanded retail space. Previously approved entitlements expected to replace the bank structure and surface parking with a 49-unit apartment complex with ground-floor retail. Now, the project will expand the existing structure across half the lot while retaining the Lombard Street-facing surface parking. The Prado Group is the project sponsor, filing on behalf of the Burlingame-based property owner, The Bruni Company.

Meeting Tomorrow For Freedom West 2.0, San Francisco

The San Francisco Planning Commission is scheduled to review plans tonight for the massive Freedom West 2.0 master plan. The city has published the Draft Environmental Impact Report, which provides insight into the proposal to replace an existing affordable housing neighborhood with more than two thousand apartments, including replacement units for existing residents. MacFarlane Partners is the project applicant, working with Avanath Capital Management.

Construction Permits Issued for a Portion of the CityView Plaza Project in San Jose

Last week, construction permits were issued for initial work on the 185 Park Avenue parcel at CityView Plaza in San Jose. The permit will allow construction to begin on the eight-story structure, consisting of ground-floor retail and a multi-story parking garage. SF YIMBY initially reported on initial site demolitions and preparations in August of 2025, and the new approval marks steady progress for the project.
