Construction work is finishing up on Google’s Charleston East, a canopy-covered bespoke office building designed by two international architecture firms, Bjarke Ingels Group and Heatherwick Studios. The 111-foot tall project is located at 2000 North Shoreline Boulevard, by the Mountain View waterfront and across from the Shoreline Amphitheatre and the Googleplex. Google’s parent company, Alphabet, is the project owner.
New renderings have been published for Menlo Flats, an eight-story residential infill located at 165 Jefferson Drive in Menlo Park, San Mateo County. The project will replace a single-story office building with housing, offices, public open space, and parking. Greystar is responsible for the application, filing through Menlo Park Flats Venture LLC.

The project would reshape the 0.73 acres currently occupied by surface parking and a single-story commercial building with 296 homes and parking spaces. D&S Development is responsible for the application.
Plans have been revealed for a five-story mixed-use development at 990 34th Street, located between San Pablo Avenue and Market Street in West Oakland. The project, titled the Brubeck Building, would replace an existing two-story apartment building with 44 new homes. Gunkel Architecture is managing the design.
Plans are under review for a five-story affordable housing project to rise at 440 Arden Way, located in Old North Sacramento. BRIDGE Housing Corporation has proposed to replace the vacated Sacramento armory building with 124 new homes, including 31 permanent supportive housing. Now, the nonprofit developer is working with coUrbanize to get community feedback with the launch of a new website.
