Mayor Sheng Thao recently announced that the Liberation Park affordable housing proposal will receive $44 million of state financing. The money will help construct over a hundred units at 6955 Foothill Boulevard in East Oakland. The project is a joint venture between Black Cultural Zone Community Development Corporation and Eden Housing.
Formal permits have been submitted for Encore Estates, the builder’s remedy-assisted plans to add hundreds of homes and an 81-room hotel at the Mountain Winery in Saratoga, Santa Clara County. Alongside new housing, the project will add a clubhouse, gatehouse, and additional parking to the historic winery and concert venue. William Hirschman of Lexor Builders is responsible for the application.
Preliminary permits have been filed with a residential development at 2147 San Pablo Avenue in Southwest Berkeley, Alameda County. The updated plans have increased the potential unit count for the project, adding 16 residences to the project. Lowney Architecture is responsible for the application.
A new mixed-use project has proposed for development at 3260 26th Street in Mission District, San Francisco. The project proposal includes the construction of a new six-story mixed-use building offering residential and commercial spaces. Plans call for the demolition of the existing one-story industrial structure on the site. Kerman Morris Architecture LLP is responsible for the designs.
Westbank has submitted updated plans to pivot from offices to housing to replace the Charles Davidson Building at 255 West Julian Street in Downtown San Jose, Santa Clara County. The project was one of several high-profile projects within the Westbank masterplan developed in collaboration with Urban Community. This shift marks the fourth iteration for the vacant freeway-side parcel and the second time Urban Community proposed housing.
