Magnolia Village will create twenty new homes, including some affordable housing, and a new home for Rustic Bakery. Edge Development Group is the project developer.
Construction is starting to go vertical for the five-story affordable housing project at 1666 7th Street in West Oakland, Alameda County. The development, dubbed 7th and Campbell, is now one level closer to having 79 apartments with community space above a new restaurant and grocery store. Oakland & the World Enterprises is the project sponsor, led by the former Black Panther Party chairwoman Elaine Brown.
A pre-application has been filed to replace a single-story auto body shop with eight stories of housing and retail at 2037 Durant Avenue, three blocks from the Downtown Berkeley BART Station, Alameda County. The filing would create 74 new apartments, including some affordable housing. Studio KDA is responsible for the application.
A new planning application has been filed for a seven-story apartment infill at 2300 Ellsworth Street in Southside, Berkeley. The updated proposal will preserve the historic facade along 2300 Ellsworth Street while increasing unit sizes above. The project, filed by Riaz Capital, is now expecting to create 69 apartments directly across from the UC Berkeley Campus.
A preliminary application has been filed seeking the approval of a mixed-use project at 2614 Telegraph Avenue in Berkeley. The project proposal includes the development of a four-story mixed-use building offering residential and retail spaces. Plans call for the demolition of a commercial building on the site. Gunkel Architecture is responsible for the designs.
