Planning Commission Meeting Scheduled for 1530-1544 West San Carlos Street, San Jose

The City of San Jose planning commission has tentatively scheduled to review plans for a seven-story mixed-use development at 1530 and 1544 West San Carlos Street in San Jose’s West San Carlos neighborhood. The proposal would add 173 new apartments to the Silicon Valley housing market along with communal area and commercial space. Urban Villas LLC is responsible for the development.

Application Filed for Maudelle Building at 2001 Ashby Avenue, South Berkeley

The building application has been filed for review for the six-story affordable housing proposal at 2001 Ashby Avenue in South Berkeley. The project is expecting to add 87 new units to the East Bay housing market, with twelve units reserved for formerly unhoused residents. RCD Housing is responsible for the development, which will be named Maudelle Miller Shirek Community Building in honor of the late activist, vice-mayor, and eight-term member of the city council.

PPA Issued for 1338-1370 Mission Street, SoMa, San Francisco

The City of San Francisco has issued the preliminary project assessment (PPA) for a 30-story mixed-use tower with affordable housing proposed for 1338-1370 Mission Street in SoMa, San Francisco. Plans for the 287-unit high-rise were first revealed in April of 2021 across three separate filings. Now that the PPA has been issued, the developers, Malex Holdings, must file the project application within 18 months or submit the document again.
