The eighth tallest skyscraper in the Bay Area planned or built is the Millennium Tower, a 645-foot tall residential building at 301 Mission Street in SoMa, San Francisco. Developed by Millennium Partners, the project was built between 2005 and 2009 opened as the tallest residential tower west of Chicago. Since 2016, the building has garnered international news for both tilting and sinking.
Crews are readying the property at 2359 Harrison Street ahead of demolition for a 16-story mixed-use building in Northgate-Waverly, by downtown Oakland. Surface parking has been removed, and grading occurring ahead of excavation. Holland Partner Group is responsible for the development.
New plans have been unveiled for a seven-story residential project at 1617 J Street in Midtown, Sacramento. The proposal is to add 200 new apartments and a full floor of retail between 16th and 17th Street in a busy corner of the State Capitol. Led by SKK Developments, the development has become nearly three times larger than first revealed just five months ago.
The City of Santa Clara has scheduled a public review today for 950 Monroe Street, a mixed-use proposal less than ten minutes away from the Santa Clara University campus. The six-story building is expected to add 57 dwelling units and new ground-floor retail to the Santa Clara County housing market. Menlo Park-based Lamb Partners is responsible for the development.
A new preliminary application has been filed to fast-track the review for 3135 San Pablo Avenue, West Oakland. Along with a request to use Senate Bill 330, new renderings have been revealed. The six-story building will create 73 new senior dwelling units and ground-level commercial space. Satellite Affordable Housing Associates is responsible for the application as the sponsor, while Saint Mary’s Center is the property owner.
