New building permits have been filed for the affordable housing plan at 240 Van Ness Avenue in the Civic Center, San Francisco. The address is across from City Hall at the corner of Grove Street and Van Ness. Once complete, it will add 109 units and ground-level retail for the highly-trafficked street corner. Mercy Housing is the project developer.
Development permits were submitted for 1021 Valencia Street in the Mission District, San Francisco, earlier in 2020. A request for Discretionary Review of the filed building permits has been submitted. The project proposal includes the demotion of the existing commercial building and construction of a new mixed-use six-story residence. The building will feature twenty-five residential units and will meet affordable housing criteria; two residential units in the structure will be listed as below-market rate.
Facebook and Signature Development Group have announced that they have submitted newly detailed planning documents for their proposed mixed-use district dubbed Willow Village in Menlo Park, San Mateo County. The proposal will cover nearly 60 acres with a mixture of housing, office space, retail, and public parks. Two phases of construction will yield over 3.3 million square feet of built area. OMA, one of the most influential architecture firms still active, is responsible for the design.
Planning documents are currently under review for a mixed-use development at 701 Harrison Street in SoMa, San Francisco. The 100-foot structure will bring just under 50,000 square feet of office space along with 8,540 square feet of retail. Aralon Properties is responsible for the project as the property owner.
New building permits have been filed for the Sacramento Canopy Hotel planned for 1116 9th Street in Downtown Sacramento. The proposal is for a 14-story mixed-use structure with residencies, hotel, and retail use. Venture Oaks Real Estate Group is responsible for the application, filing through the Sacramento Capitol Hotel LLC.
