Demolition permits have been filed to clear four buildings to make way for the 16-story mixed-use project at 2359 Harrison Street in Northgate Waverly, Oakland. Just two blocks from Oakland’s current tallest building at One Kaiser Plaza, 2359 Harrison is part of a slow contemporary expansion of Oakland’s central business district. The project will add 330 new dwelling units with some affordable units to the East Bay housing market.

The project would replace a parking lot with two retail spaces, a private art gallery, and an apartment. Urban Elements, led by company President Julie Young, is the project developer.

Developers have applied for the variance application required for demolition at 570 Market Street, in San Francisco’s Financial District. A two-story retail build on-site will be cleared for a 29-story infill hotel tower with 240 guest rooms. The request comes after a shadow study submitted in early May. The Frontier Group is the project developer.

Permits have been filed for a three-story mixed-use development at 375 Parker Avenue in Rodeo, Contra Costa County. Rodeo is a relatively small town of roughly 8,700 residents along Interstate 80. The proposed development would create 22 new units and ground-level retail at the intersection of Parker Avenue and Fourth Street.

The project will create 579 new apartments across two construction phases along with retail and a new home for the UA Local 38 Plumbers & Pipefitters Union Hall. Strada is the property owner and managing the development, operating through Strada Brady LLC.

The proposal will rise across from 2550 Irving Street, where a 98-unit affordable housing project will demolish the offices for The Police Credit Union. The Police Credit Union is responsible for the development at 2513 Irving.
