Affordable Housing Opens by Balboa Park BART Station, San Francisco

The project team and city officials gathered last week to celebrate the grand opening of Kapuso at the Upper Yard, a nine-story affordable housing project at 2340 San Jose Avenue in San Francisco’s Outer Mission neighborhood. The project has created 131 low- to moderate-income family homes on public land owned by BART and developed in partnership with Related and the Mission Housing Development Corporation. State Senator Scott Wiener, author of Senate Bill 35, which provided Kapuso a clear path for approval, attended the event.

The project proposal includes the construction of revamping the restaurant with an additional story. The restaurant is a part of the Stanford Shopping Center of Palo Alto, Santa Clara County. Simon properties is the project developer. RH Architecture & Design is responsible for the designs.

Meeting Scheduled For Housing At 500 East 4th Avenue In San Mateo

Development permits have been filed seeking approval of a new residential project proposed for development at 500 East 4th Avenue in San Mateo, San Mateo County. The project proposal includes the construction of a mixed-use complex offering spaces for residential and retail uses. Demolition will be required for five structures, including two pre-1888 wood frame houses, a 1932-built former market, and two low-slung mid-century commercial buildings. A former gas station at 524 East 4th Avenue has already been demolished.
