YIMBY Visits Treasure Island, San Francisco

A recent site visit to Treasure Island by YIMBY reveals significant progress has been made for the region’s most active construction project. Cranes and rising concrete have only started to divulge the scale of the 405-acre vision, nearly three decades in the making, that will redevelop San Francisco’s storied artificial island with a mixed-use urban neighborhood populated by around eight thousand homes. The Treasure Island Community Development joint venture sponsors the project.

Plans have been filed for an expansion of a four-story hotel at 2601 Mason Street, located in Fisherman’s Wharf, the bustling tourist destination along San Francisco’s northeast waterfront. Plans include creating an expanded fourth floor, rooftop dining room, and removing five parking spaces. Stanton Architecture is responsible for the design.

Planning Commission to Review 55-Story Plans for 10 South Van Ness, San Francisco

The San Francisco Planning Commission will review a request to modify plans for the 55-story mixed-use tower at 10 South Van Ness Avenue in The Hub. Floor areas have been adjusted so that the residential capacity can increase from 966 to 1,012 apartments by adjusting the exterior design or height. Crescent Heights is the project sponsor.

Berkeley Design Review Committee is scheduled to review expanded plans for the residential infill at 3031 Adeline Street in South Berkeley, Alameda County. The seven-story iteration is now poised to create 64 apartments across from the Ashby BART Station. Athan Magganas is responsible for the project as the property owner.

Meeting Scheduled Tomorrow For 3000 Shattuck Avenue In Berkeley

A new residential project has been proposed for development at 3000 Shattuck Avenue in Berkeley. The project proposal includes the construction of a new 10-story residential infill beside the Ashby BART Station. The site is currently occupied by a gas station and auto service shop, slated for demolition. Trachtenberg Architects is responsible for the designs.

Updated plans and new building permits have been filed for an eight-story residential infill at 3565 Geary Boulevard in San Francisco’s Richmond District. The proposal will create 63 apartments, reduced from previous plans by ten units. Shatara Architecture is responsible for the design, though detailed renderings have yet to be revealed.

Development permits have been approved, and new building permits are filed for a six-story affordable housing project at 2700 International Boulevard in Fruitvale, Oakland. The proposal will create 75 apartments along with retail and parking. Once built, it will become a neighborhood hub for the project sponsor, the Fruitvale-based Unity Council.
