A new 17-story student-oriented development has been proposed for 2128 Oxford Street through 2132-2154 Center Street in Downtown Berkeley. The mixed-use proposal would fill in the low-density college-town skyline with 285 new units geared on top of ground-level retail. Core Spaces and Core Berkeley Oxford LLC are responsible for the development.
Demolition permits have been submitted for a single-story building located at 111 Independence Drive in Menlo Park. Plans call for the development of an apartment building on the project site. The new development has been approved by the City Planning Commission. SP Menlo LLC is the project applicant. BDE Architecture is responsible for the design concepts and construction of the apartment complex.
Plans have been approved this summer for Centro Callan, a mixed-use development at 1188 East 14th Street in Old San Leandro. The five-story proposal will add 196 new dwelling units on top of a new specialty grocery store. Sansome Pacific and The Martin Group are jointly responsible for the development.
Casa de la Mision has celebrated the grand opening in San Francisco’s Mission District neighborhood. Casa de la Mission is a five-story affordable housing development at 3001 24th Street. Now open, it has opened 44 new apartments intended to housing formerly-unhoused senior residents of the city. Each resident will be referred through the San Francisco Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing’s Coordinated Entry system.
New plans have been filed for what could become one of the tallest towers in the Bay Area. Hines has submitted the preliminary project application for a quarter-billion-dollar residential skyscraper to rise 818 feet high at 50 Main Street in SoMa, San Francisco. 50 Main Street will be part of the 200 Mission Street Campus, Hines’ mixed-use redevelopment of the former PG&E Headquarters into housing, retail, modernized offices, and a network of public open space.
