As per a recently released statement by BART, the long-awaited West Oakland BART development project is now taking initial steps towards construction. A portion of the West Oakland BART parking lot is closed this week for preliminary site soil testing and preparations. Site remediation, followed by building construction, is to begin later this year.
Detailed plans have been published for the mixed-use redevelopment of the former United States Geological Survey offices at 345 Middlefield Road in Menlo Park, San Mateo County. The property could accommodate hundreds of new apartments and nearly double the office space next to the proposed Parkline masterplan, and be less than half a mile from a potential new skyscraper at 80 Willow Road. Presidio Bay Ventures is responsible for the application.
Plans have been filed for a mixed-use development at 4451 El Centro Road in North Natomas, Sacramento. The proposal will reshape 45 acres in the heart of the suburban neighborhood with over 200 single-family homes and a retail strip mall. Tsakopoulos Investments is the project developer.
Preliminary permits have been filed for a townhouse development at 2855 El Camino Real in Santa Clara, Santa Clara County. The project invokes Senate Bill 330 and the State Density Bonus Law to bring several dozen units to an abandoned parcel. The project applicant is not listed.
Updated renderings have been published for Strada’s waterfront housing development at 555 Beale Street, San Francisco. The new illustrations showcase the design by the international architecture studio Grimshaw for two residential buildings expected to deliver over six hundred units along The Embarcadero. Construction could start as early as next year.
