The Berkeley Design Review Committee is scheduled to review plans for an eight-story apartment complex to rise at 2655 Shattuck Avenue in South Berkeley, Alameda County. Plans for the site were first revealed in late 2023, with formal permits filed in May last year. The proposal could bring nearly a hundred units along the major thoroughfare equidistant between the Downtown and Ashby BART stations.

New preliminary permits have been filed for the proposed 22-story tower at 2700 Sloat Boulevard in San Francisco’s Sunset District. The filing comes nearly two months after the first planning application for the 22-story iteration was submitted to the city’s planning department and nearly nine months after the sensational 50-story skyscraper was withdrawn. Housing America Partner and San Francisco Housing Development Corporation are jointly responsible for the project.

Preliminary plans were published late last week for a potential redevelopment of the Hillsdale indoor mall in San Mateo, San Mateo County. Initial details include the demolition of nearly three-quarters of the shopping center’s facilities, leaving just the North Block untouched as the remaining acres are transformed into nearly fourteen hundred units of housing, retail, and multi-level garages. Sares Regis Group is responsible for the application.
