The project proposal includes the demolition of an automotive repair shop spanning over 1,690 square feet approximately and the construction of a new sixty-eight-foot tall mixed-use structure. UCSF Parnassus Heights Housing and Hospital Proposal Approved, Sunset District, San Francisco

The Regents of the University of California, the governing body for the state-wide university system, has unanimously voted to approve a $3 billion 30-year development of the U.C. San Francisco Parnassus Heights campus in Sunset District, San Francisco. Herzog & de Meuron, with HDR as the architect of record, will design the medical facility expansion, including 1,263 residential units for students and hospital staff, a new hospital, and research buildings.

Development permits were submitted for approval of constructing a four-story condominium building at 5915 California Street in the Richmond District of San Francisco. Conditional Use Authorization has been submitted for the demolition of an existing two-story, type 5 single-family residence. The project proposal includes constructing a new four-story, type 5b condominium building with three units. John Lum Architecture is managing the design concepts and construction of the housing project.

Coming in as the fiftieth tallest tower in the Bay Area built or planned is Jasper, a prominent building along the San Francisco skyline perched on Rincon Hill. The 430-foot tower at 45 Lansing Street, SoMa, was completed in 2016 by Miami-based Crescent Heights and then purchased in the summer of 2019 by Northwestern Mutual for $306 million. The development was made possible by San Francisco’s 2005 Rincon Hill Plan, a neighborhood-focused zoning program that helped pave the way for many of the towers on our list to offer housing in the Central Business District.
