Redevelopment permits have been filed for a six-story redevelopment of 3300 Mission Street in the Bernal Heights neighborhood of San Francisco. The plan will create 35 affordable housing units along the retail thoroughfare in the former 3300 Club. An LLC connected to Bernal Heights Neighborhood Center is the project developer.
New plans have been filed for an eight-story apartment tower at the triangular corner lot at 2201 Market Street in the Castro, San Francisco. The new plans represent an increase from plans approved in 2016 with 14 market-rate homes. Now, the project will create 20 units with three affordable apartments. Polaris Pacific is listed as the property owner.
A new residential development has been proposed for construction at 28-30 Day Street in Noe Valley, San Francisco. The project proposal includes the construction of a four story residential building offering larger units. The project calls for the demolition of an existing three story building on the site. S^A (Schwartz and Architecture) is responsible for the designs.
American Institute of Architects chapter in San Francisco has announced the awardees of the AIASF Housing+ San Francisco 2050 Design Competition. AIASF set the competition as a response to the city’s Housing Element requirement for 82,000 new units of housing by 2031. The winning submission is Sunset Steps, a four-story infill with ten homes designed by West of West Architecture & Design.
The City of San Francisco has submitted a plan to purchase 42 Otis Street in San Francisco’s planned neighborhood, the Hub. The plan will transfer ownership to the city’s Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing. The plan will convert all 24 studio units to permanent supportive housing for young adults.
