KQED’s HQ Nears Block Party Opening in San Francisco’s Mission District

KQED is about to open up a new community, inviting the public inside the iconic Bay Area media station’s headquarters at 2601 Mariposa Street in San Francisco’s Mission District. Rebecca Sharkey, the principal of EHDD Architecture responsible for designing the new HQ, spoke of the direction the nonprofit gave redesign, saying, “KQED told us from the start they want to make themselves more visible to the community and open up about what public media does.”

Number 23: The Harrison on Rincon Hill, SoMa, San Francisco

The Harrison at 401 Harrison Street is the 23rd tallest skyscraper in the Bay Area planned or built with a rooftop height of 541 feet above street level. The project is the shorter of the two-towered Rincon Hill complex that has redefined the city’s skyline in SoMa, San Francisco. The project has come to define the ascension of Rincon Hill and the East Cut as an extension of high-rise residential development to accommodate the tech boom of the 21st century.

Preliminary Meeting Requested for Housing Conversion at 2395 Sacramento Street, Pacific Heights, San Francisco

March Capital Management has requested a project review meeting with city staff to consider adaptive reuse of the historic classical revival building at 2395 Sacramento Street into a residential building. Construction Underway for 1629 Market Street, SoMa, San Francisco

Construction is underway for the five-structure mixed-use development at 1629 Market Street, on the western corner of SoMa, San Francisco. The project will create 579 new apartments across two construction phases along with retail and a new home for the UA Local 38 Plumbers & Pipefitters Union Hall.
