SFMTA Proposed Permanent Slow Streets Program for San Francisco

The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency has filed a project profile application with plans to make the Slow Streets Program permanent. Nearly thirty slow-street corridors have been opened since the program started in April last year. A dozen and a half corridors are under consideration to be permanent, with three permanent slow streets in the design phase. The proposal is now under review by the San Francisco Planning Department.

Crane Dismantling Starts for 1028 Market Street, Tenderloin, San Francisco

A new apartment building overlooking Market Street is nearing the opening point. Crews have begun dismantling the crane for 1028 Market Street in the southeast corner of San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood. The project will produce affordable and market-rate housing blocks away from two BART Stations. The Olympic Residential Group and Tidewater Capital are responsible for the development.

Updated Plans Revealed for 2550 Irving Street, Sunset District, San Francisco

The general plan referral application has been filed for a proposed seven-story affordable housing building at 2550 Irving Street in San Francisco’s Sunset District neighborhood. The mid-density development would add 98 new units extending from 26th to 27th Avenue. The Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation is responsible for the project.

Construction Wrapping Up for 30 Otis Street, SoMa, San Francisco

Construction is wrapping up on 30 Otis Street as the tower is preparing for move-ins later this summer. The SoMa development will add 416 new dwelling units to the San Francisco housing market, along with retail and an updated home for the City Ballet School. Align Development is the project developer.

A new proposal has been filed for a five-story single-family dwelling with an additional dwelling unit at 2915 Vallejo Street in Pacific Heights, San Francisco. The project would replace an existing three-story single-family residence and an un-permitted in-law unit with a five-story building with a basement garage. Dumican Mosey Architects is responsible for the design.

Reduced Plans Filed for Burnt 659 Union Street, North Beach, San Francisco

New renderings have been revealed along with permit applications for the adaptive reuse of 659 Union Street in North Beach, San Francisco. The property was gutted by a four-alarm fire back in 2018. While the interior has remained vacant during the interim, an 85-foot proposal in 2019 was floated. The latest proposal reduces the scale and housing provided.

The 30th tallest tower planned or built in the Bay Area is One Montgomery Tower at 120 Kearny Street in San Francisco’s Financial District. The 500-foot office building was erected in 1982, adding 801,720 square feet of new floor area to the downtown. Cushman and Wakefield, the prominent global commercial real estate services firm, is managing the office space.

The project proposal includes the vertical expansion of an existing four-story retail building by adding two floors of office space and a small penthouse office-level inclusive of outdoor terrace space. Strada Investment Group is the project sponsor. Gensler is managing the design concept and construction.
