The 18-unit project has already been issued demolition and new building permits by the city’s Planning Department, with construction expected to start soon this year. A two-story academic space designed by the Office of Charles F. Bloszeis is the first piece of modernist architecture for the historic urban campus. The plans would install as many as 70 prefabricated units and related amenities on the 1.32-acre property. The city’s Department of Homelessness & Supportive Housing is responsible for the application.
