Modified plans have been filed for The Village, a planned six-story community center at 80 Julian Avenue in San Francisco’s Mission District. The latest application shows that the developer has taken advice from the Mayor’s Office of Housing and Community Development to increase the on-site affordable housing. The Friendship House Association of American Indians is listed as the property owner, working with Equity Community Builders.

Plans have been filed for a residential expansion of an existing mixed-use building at 998 Sanchez Street, located along the neighborhood borders of Dolores Heights and Noe Valley in San Francisco. The plans include a two-story vertical expansion and full residential conversion for the site. John Lum Architecture is responsible for the application and design.

Partial Demolition Permits Filed For Verdi Building, San Francisco

Emergency demolition permits have been filed for a portion of the Verdi Building, located across from Washington Square in North Beach, San Francisco. The brick structure standing at 659 Union Street has been left vacant after being ravaged by fire in 2013 and 2018. The application states that 50 feet of brick wall at the rear of the building will be removed.

Plans have been approved, and new building permits have been submitted for three four-story apartment infills at 819-831 Alabama Street in San Francisco’s Mission District. The development is looking to produce nine apartments. Bana Construction Inc. is responsible for the development as the project sponsor.

Permits Filed For 5420 Geary Boulevard in Richmond District, San Francisco

Preliminary plans have been filed for an eight-story apartment complex at 5420 Geary Boulevard in San Francisco’s Richmond District. The proposal is a dramatic increase from the previous plans for the site, now planning 42 apartments above the ground-floor retail next to the currently vacant Alexandria Theater. Kerman Morris Architects is listed as responsible for the application.

Plans have been published for a potential townhouse-style infill at 51 Brompton Avenue in San Francisco’s Glen Park neighborhood. An initial study has been drafted for the property owner and published by the city’s Planning Department, showing the now-vacant site could fit eight townhouse apartments. San Francisco Deems Safeway Marina Tower Eligible for AB 2011 Approval

The San Francisco Planning Department has published a notice of conditional Project Eligibility for Assembly Bill 2011 Approval of the proposed 25-story mixed-use tower at 11-15 Marina Boulevard, San Francisco. The state law now mandates a final decision by August for the nearly 800-unit development and Safeway replacement along the city’s affluent northern waterfront. Align Real Estate, a prominent local developer, is the project sponsor.
