Macys sold the property in 2016 to Morgan Stanley and Blatteis & Schnur for $250 million. The duo is responsible for the current eight-story adaptive reuse. Construction is already well underway.
The City Planning Commission has approved amended plans for a new life sciences research building for 1450 Owens Street in Mission Bay, San Francisco. The approved project will bring over 175,000 square feet onto the 1.13-acre lot, rising 109 feet above street level. The busy Alexandria Real Estate Equities (ARE), the largest real estate investment trust (REIT) for life science real estate in the USA, is responsible for the development.
Planning permits have been filed for a three-story addition to an existing two-unit three-story building in 1404-1405 Leavenworth Street in Nob Hill, San Francisco. The construction proposal includes remodeling the current residence into a three-unit five-story building with a garage/lobby. ML Designs is in charge of the project.
Recent permits show activity for the fifteen-story mixed-use project at 777 Harrison Street, also known as 725 Harrison Street in SoMa, San Francisco. The project is led by Boston Properties, the same developers behind the Salesforce Tower. They were joint owners with Barrett Block Partners before completing an acquisition in June of 2020 for $140.1 million. The city unanimously approved 777 Harrison in late 2019, making way for over three-quarters million square feet of office space and 144 affordable housing units.
The Chicago-based Oxford Capital Group has an extensive portfolio of hotels across the country, including San Francisco’s ornate Sir Francis Drake Hotel. Now, the firm has announced they are increasing their presence in the Bay to nine properties following the purchase of three hotels in San Francisco, one in Palo Alto, and another in Los Gatos. Details about the sales are not released, and public records are not updated.
