The official groundbreaking ceremony was held yesterday morning by MidPen Housing to celebrate the construction of 167 units of affordable housing at 750 Golden Gate Avenue and 850 Turk Street in San Francisco’s Fillmore District. The ceremony was held at 750 Golden Gate Avenue, where the first floor of concrete is already complete. One block away, demolition work is nearly complete at 850 Turk Street.

Meeting Tonight For Housing at Bishop Ranch 8, San Ramon

The San Ramon Planning Commission is scheduled to review plans tonight for housing at 3000-5000 Executive Parkway within the Bishop Ranch campus in San Ramon, Contra Costa County. The project will divide the Bishop Ranch 8 parcel, also known as Canopy, into two separate developments, one for single-family housing and the other for an affordable apartment complex. Alexander Properties Company is responsible for the application, working with Eden Housing for the affordable component.

Groundbreaking for BUSD Workforce Housing at 1701 San Pablo Avenue, Berkeley

Construction has officially started for the six-story affordable housing complex at 1701 San Pablo Avenue in Northwest Berkeley, Alameda County. The groundbreaking ceremony was held by the Berkeley Unified School District in partnership with the non-profit developers Abode Communities and Satellite Affordable Housing Associates. Once complete, the project will offer over a hundred units for educators in the city.

Acting as the project’s applicant and developer, Borello Asset Management has submitted an Environmental Impact Report with CEQA for consideration regarding a planned development at 1000 South De Anza Boulevard in San Jose. The project would consist of the demolition of an existing single story commercial building and construction of a new seven story residential building on the 0.72 acre site. LPMD Architects are responsible for the building designs.

Permits Filed For Updated Multi-Property Development in San Martin

South-Bay-based Swenson has submitted two permit applications for a development located at 13000 Depot Road in San Martin. In partnership with GVL Partners, they plan to construct 44 single-family homes on the site, and the property has now entered the preparation stages prior to the construction. The project was previously reported on by SF YIMBY in December of 2024 under the former address of 12805 Llagas Avenue.
