The City of San Jose has submitted a request for funds from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development for a six-story affordable housing project near Downtown San Jose, Santa Clara County. The project will create 99 units that will either become permanent supportive housing or rapid rehousing units at 797 South Almaden Avenue. RCD Housing is the project developer.

Demolition Permits Filed for Affordable Teacher Housing in Mission District, San Francisco

Demolition permits have been filed for the existing structure at 2205 Mission Street in San Francisco’s Mission District. The project will replace the existing damaged building with 63 affordable for-sale apartments for teacher workforce housing. The project developer, Mission Economic Development Agency, expects to start demolition this October, with completion by 2025.

Preliminary Plans for Affordable Housing Infill in Bayview, San Francisco

Preliminary plans have been filed for a seven-story residential infill at 1311 Quesada Avenue in Bayview, San Francisco. Illustrations show how the narrow two-structure project will rise from the low-slung neighborhood to create 27 affordable housing units. San Diego-based affordable housing developer MirKa Investments is responsible for the application, working alongside San Francisco-based MNC.
