First Community Housing Is Developing Housing For Homeless and Veterans at 201 Bassett Street, San Jose

Development permits have been filed seeking the approval of constructing an apartment building at 201 Bassett Street in Downtown San Jose. San Jose-based nonprofit, First Community Housing is developing a six-story apartment building that will provide housing to veterans and people currently experiencing homelessness. Named Iamesi Village, the project is under construction and will develop 135 units located at the intersection of Bassett and Terraine streets.
OJK Architecture and Planning is the master architect. A housing master plan is being developed by Intracorp Homes, Swenson, and First Community Housing in partnership with San Jose’s redevelopment agency on the 5.72-acre lot adjacent to the downtown core.

Planning Application Filed for Freedom West, Fillmore District, San Francisco

The Freedom West 2.0 developer team has filed a Preliminary Project Assessment application for the mixed-use Freedom West development at 710 McAllister Street in the Fillmore District of San Francisco. New documents provide greater insight and information about the $2 billion mixed-use expansion of the existing 382-unit non-profit housing co-op. This includes plans for residents to retain ownership while moving into market-rate quality units at no additional cost or rise in co-op fees. The Freedom West Homes Corporation is joined by the project sponsor MacFarlane Partners and Avanath Capital Management as the Freedom West 2.0 joint development team.

New Building Permits Filed for 98 Franklin Street, Civic Center, San Francisco

New building permits have been filed for a 37-story mixed-use tower at 98 Franklin Street in the Civic Center neighborhood of San Francisco. The city’s Planning Department approved the development in May of 2020, allowing for construction on top of surface parking at the corner of Oak and Franklin with a small parcel of land, allowing construction to extend to Market Street. Related Companies is responsible for the development.
