State Funding for 1875 California Drive, Burlingame, San Mateo County

San Mateo County has awarded $22 million of state funding for Eucalyptus Grove, an eight-story affordable housing infill at 1875 California Drive in Burlingame, San Mateo County. The plan will bring 69 new homes near the Millbrae BART and Caltrain Station. The neighborhood has seen plans for many apartment and life sciences projects approved or under construction, including the nearly-completed Gateway at Millbrae project and the recently ground-broken AVIA project by Longfellow. CRP Affordable is responsible for the development.

Expansion for Julia Morgan-Designed Retirement Community in Marina District, San Francisco

Plans are under review to expand the Heritage on the Marina life care and retirement community at 3400 Laguna Street in the Marina District of San Francisco. The plans drafted by HKS Architects will expand the community’s facilities, reimagine the site’s landscaping, and refurbish the 1925 wing designed by the famed Bay Area architect Julia Morgan. The San Francisco Ladies’ Protection and Relief Society is listed as the property owner.

Construction is starting to go vertical for the five-story affordable housing project at 1666 7th Street in West Oakland, Alameda County. The development, dubbed 7th and Campbell, is now one level closer to having 79 apartments with community space above a new restaurant and grocery store. Oakland & the World Enterprises is the project sponsor, led by the former Black Panther Party chairwoman Elaine Brown.
