San Jose City Council has approved plans for a 22-story affordable senior housing tower at 19 North 2nd Street in Downtown San Jose, Santa Clara County. The project will create around 220 apartments near the Bank of Italy Tower and St. James Park. ROYGBIV Real Estate Development is the project applicant.
Plans have been filed for a new eight-story residential infill at 100 2nd Street in Oakland’s waterfront Jack London Square neighborhood. The preliminary application shows the vacant property will be transformed into 53 new homes, including affordable housing. R2 Building, the same firm responsible for the 39-story application at 2044 Franklin Street, is listed as the project developer.
New plans have been filed for a seven-story affordable housing infill at 8930 MacArthur Boulevard in Castlemont, Oakland. The project is now expected to create 83 efficiency units, more than double the initial plans. Workbench is the project architect and property owner.
New permits have been filed for a six-story affordable housing infill at 9809 MacArthur Boulevard in Castlemont, Oakland. The project will create 49 units designated for extremely low-income households, streamlined using Assembly Bill 2162. Banta Design is responsible for the application and design.
New Building permits have been filed for two affordable infills with a total of 272 apartments at 1633 Valencia Street and 3485 Cesar Chavez Street at the border of Bernal Heights and the Mission District of San Francisco. One permit is listed as a priority under the San Francisco Mayor’s Office’s Executive Directive 13-01, designed by Mayor Ed Lee in 2013 to expedite the approval process for designated plans. Mercy Housing is developing 1633 Valencia Street, and Sequoia Living is developing 3485 Cesar Chavez Street.
