New building permits are filed for the mid-density residential project at 344 14th Street, on the north edge of the Mission District, San Francisco. The seven-story apartment block will add sixty new homes to the neighborhood, along with ground-floor retail. California-based Manouch Moshayedi of MX3 Ventures is responsible for the development after purchasing the parcel in 2015 for nearly $5 million.
Construction for the billion dollar 5M is progressing quickly, with the largest building already near topping out sixteen months after groundbreaking in SoMa, San Francisco. The project will produce six structures, three new, three historic restorations. This includes the former headquarters of the San Francisco Chronicle newspaper, owned by Brookfield Properties’ partner for the development, Hearst. The master plan is by SITELAB Urban Studio, guided by the stated mission to create a privately funded arts- and community-oriented mixed-use district. Permits have been filed for a large multifamily project at 242 Hahn Street in Sunnydale, San Francisco. Plans for the site call for a 167-unit multifamily structure as part of the Sunnydale HOPE SF project, for the projected cost of $80 million. 242 Hahn will contribute to the 1,770 new apartments expected for the sprawling mid-density development.
A large, affordable housing project is planned for 2330 Monroe Street in the city of Santa Clara. The building, rising two to three floors, will contain 65 apartments. Units will range in size from studios to three bedrooms, twenty percent of which will be set aside for people with developmental disabilities. Freebird Development company is responsible for the development.
A 42-story residential tower planned for 95 Hawthorne Street has made another step towards its realization. Permits have been filed for the new building in SoMA, San Francisco, starting the process for construction to begin. A total of 412 dwelling units are planned for the building, a twenty-unit increase since its approval in the second half of 2019. Skidmore, Owings & Merrill will be responsible for the design.
