Housing Proposed At 1701 San Pablo Avenue In Berkeley

A new residential project has been proposed for development at 1701 San Pablo Avenue in Berkeley. The project proposal includes the development of a six-story building offering 100 % affordable housing units with onsite parking. The project site houses Berkeley Adult School. Two community-based nonprofit housing providers, Satellite Affordable Housing Associates (SAHA) and Abode Communities, have partnered with Berkeley Unified School District (BUSD) to develop the project. PYATOK Architects is responsible for the designs.

A recent visit by YIMBY shows significant construction progress for the multi-block Elco Yards project at 1601 El Camino Real in Downtown Redwood City, San Mateo County. The move also comes as the project developer, IQHQ, has reportedly purchased several properties adjacent to its existing master plan. Currently, crews are working to create over five hundred residences, offices, retail, a child care center, and open space across 8.3 acres.

Plans call for the demolition of the existing warehouse on the site. Mutual Housing California and the Capitol Area Development Authority (CADA) are teaming up for the project.
