Construction has topped out for the nine-story residential infill at 180 Jones Street in San Francisco’s Tenderloin. The development replaced a surface parking lot with 70 units of affordable housing. The Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation is the project sponsor.
A 100% affordable housing project has been approved and is making progress at 121 East 12th Street in Merritt, Oakland. The project proposal includes the development of a six-story building offering 91 residential units, retail, and parking spaces. Oakland-based East Bay Asian Local Development Corporation is the developer. PYATOK Architects is responsible for the designs. DCI Engineers is consulting on structural engineering, Sandis is the civil engineer, and Jett is the landscape architect.
Construction has started for the four-story affordable housing complex at 231 Grant Avenue in Palo Alto, Santa Clara County. The project will open 110 units for teachers, school district staff, and their families, including staff in Santa Clara County and several southern San Mateo County school districts. The project has been a joint venture between Abode Communities and Mercy Housing.
Construction has topped out for the 19-story mass timber apartment structure at 1510 Webster Street in Downtown Oakland, Alameda County. The project, the tallest mass timber tower on the West Coast, will bring 236 new residences capped by a public rooftop deck. oWow, the project developer, hopes to welcome their first residents before the year’s end.

The project has reshaped a 0.86-acre parcel with hundreds of homes, retail, and a landscaped public plaza. Holland Partner Group is the developer.
