Earlier this month, the City of Oakland announced its award of more than $35 million from state climate action programs to be invested in the development of new affordable housing and transportation infrastructure. The funds are focused on a new project being developed by the East Bay Asian Local Development Corporation at 285 12th Street in Oakland’s city center.
Detailed plans have been published for the affordable housing project at 249 Pennsylvania Avenue on Potrero Hill, San Francisco. The nine-story proposal is looking to add 124 units to the vacant parcel, cleared in 2018 in preparation for a now-withdrawn market-rate development. Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation and Young Community Developers are listed as joint developers.
Documents were submitted to CEQA for the preparation of an Environmental Impact Report on a planned project at 2036 Bancroft Way in Berkeley. The proposed project would involve the partial demolition of the site, including two residential structures and an office building annex, to make way for a new eight-story residential project.
A proposed development at 15300 Los Gatos Boulevard to 15330 Los Gatos Boulevard has submitted initial documents to CEQA, beginning the process of environmental approvals. The project is brought by Arya Properties LLC, and is currently titled as The Arya Mixed-Use Development in the relevant records.
Last week, ground broke at the El Cerrito BART Station, beginning the first phase of construction for a sweeping 743-unit development to occupy the existing surface parking lot. Initial concepts for the project were reported on by SF YIMBY in 2020, with final approvals by the El Cerrito City Council coming through in May 2025. In that time, Holliday Development, Satellite Affordable Housing Associates, and Related California have emerged as project developers, sponsoring a combination of affordable and market-rate units on the site.
