The Shirley Chisholm Village in San Francisco’s Outer Sunset neighborhood hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony last week, celebrating the completion of a first-of-its-kind project for San Francisco. The 100% affordable units are designated as a community for educators working in San Francisco, with the goal of making housing more accessible within the city limits.
Modified plans have been filed for the supportive housing project within the North Berkeley BART Station redevelopment plan. The application utilizes Assembly Bill 2011 to streamline the approval process for the amended iteration, which has increased the overall scale and average size of the 85 units. Insight Housing is responsible for the application.
Construction has started for a new affordable housing complex at 429 MacArthur Avenue in the unincorporated North Fair Oaks community in San Mateo County. The project is set to add 86 apartments close to the Fair Oaks Community Center and public library. San Diego-based developer Affirmed Housing is the project sponsor.
The Clearview Business Park in San Mateo was recently acquired by Harvest Properties in partnership with Stockbridge. The site, located at 3000–3155 Clearview Way, currently serves as business offices for multiple organizations, including the well-known camera company GoPro. Preliminary intentions for the site are to demolish the existing office buildings and construct up to 225 townhomes, bringing new housing to the area.
Revised plans have been filed for the abandoned construction site at 4400 Martin Luther King Junior Way in Oakland, Alameda County. The topped-out project is located close to the MacArthur BART Station, overlooking California State Route 24. The latest filing shifts the project from offering 57 apartments to 144 units in a fully affordable development, dubbed The Refuge Apartments. Hybridge Capital Management is responsible for the redevelopment.
