Groundbreaking Ceremony for 715 East Saint John Street, San Jose

The Santa Clara County Housing Authority and the County have celebrated the official groundbreaking for the Hawthorn Senior Apartments, a new affordable housing project at 715 East Saint John Street in San Jose. Construction will soon create over a hundred units and community amenities for senior residents, including some permanent supportive housing for formerly unhoused residents. Completion is expected by the summer of 2026.

Zoning worksheet permits have been filed for the affordable housing component of the Mandela Station masterplan in West Oakland, Alameda County. The filing comes a few weeks after the city’s Planning Commission reviewed plans for the project, revealing new detailed renderings by AO. Keystone Development Group is responsible for the application on behalf of the joint venture, Mandela Station Affordable LP.

Significantly Reduced Plans for 6733 Foothill Boulevard, Oakland

New permits have been filed for the affordable proposal at 6733 Foothill Boulevard, close to Oakland’s Eastmont Town Center. The application shows a significant plan shift for AMG & Associates, pivoting away from two six-story apartments with over five hundred units to 167 dwellings across three structures. AMG and The Pacific Companies are jointly responsible for the development.
