Friendship House, the project lead, describes The Village as a unique urban proposal, an inter-tribal community coalition center for Native organizations and groups serving the city’s Indigenous population.

Steel Rises & Roads Visible in Phase One of Mission Rock, San Francisco

Construction has started for Phase One of the Mission Rock development in Mission Bay, San Francisco. The land has been graded with foundations for the road network already visible and the steel superstructure for The Canyon on Parcel A rising over 3rd Street. Phase One includes two residential buildings, two offices, and the waterfront China Basin Park. Tishman Speyer is responsible for the development in partnership with the city’s major league baseball team, The Giants, and the Port of San Francisco.

Permits Filed to Allow Affordable Housing at 2500-2530 18th Street, Mission District, San Francisco

The Board of Supervisors has filed permits to amend the zoning map and create an affordable housing special use district at 2500-2530 18th Street, by the eastern edge of the Mission District in San Francisco. The permits will allow for new uses of the properties, including affordable housing. A local family resource center institution, Homeless Prenatal Program, is the property owner.

Historic Structure Moved from 600 1st Street for Garden Gate Tower, Downtown San Jose

Downtown San Jose was treated to a spectacle Sunday morning when the historic structure at 8 East Reed Street was lifted from the ground and moved across the city by truck. The Kelly Brothers House Movers conducted the job. The relocated four-plex will become affordable housing managed by Habitat for Humanity. Other involved parties include the Preservation Action Council of San Jose, the City of San Jose, and KT Urban. KT Urban will be responsible for developing the proposed 27-story residential tower dubbed the Garden Gate.
