Herz Recreation Center for Related and Mercy’s Development Goes through Civic Design Review

A planned new hub is under review for a corner of John McLaren Park at Sunnydale, by the southern edge of San Francisco. Recent plans were put in front of the civic design review committee for the community center adjoining a residential development, the Herz Recreation Center Project. It is a nearly twelve thousand square foot destination for exercise, meetings, and various events. The city’s Park Department is developing the project in concert with Mercy Housing and Related California.

Permits have been filed for a residential expansion at 815 O’Farrell Street in the Tenderloin, San Francisco, along with the renovation of the structure’s interior. Four new residential units are projected to be added on the structure’s first and basement floors, yielding nine additional bedrooms and seven modern bathrooms. One amenity for the apartments is the in-unit dishwasher and a washer/dryer. New windows will also be a part of the project. These new dwelling units will be replacing existing storage facilities.

633 Folsom Street Expansion and Reclad Nearly Complete, SoMa, San Francisco

Recent images show that the recladding and five-story expansion of the office building at 633 Folsom Street, SoMa is nearly complete. The new design is by Gensler, an international architecture firm, with development by the building owner, Swig Company. A future tenant has already been secured by CBRE, Asana, a tech company owned by Facebook co-founder Dustin Moskovitz. Occupancy is expected soon.
