The 17th tallest building in San Francisco planned or built is Market Center, the 573-foot tall office tower at 575 Market Street in SoMa, San Francisco. Part of a two-structure complex, the towering offices were home to the international headquarters for Standard Oil of California, now known as Chevron, from opening until 2001. Now, the building is owned and managed by Paramount Group.
Construction is moving quickly for Mission Rock, the multi-tower waterfront development by Tishman Speyer across from Oracle Park in Mission Bay, San Francisco. The first hints of vertical work were reported in spring, and floors started to rise for the future Visa global headquarters at block G by early summer. Now, the office building has topped out, with foundation work preparing for the vertical rise of the remaining three buildings in phase one of Mission Rock.
Madison Capital’s Representatives request the project review meeting for the firm’s proposed 2800 3rd Street development in Dogpatch, San Francisco. The project would produce six floors to capture the city’s growing demand for light manufacturing and laboratory spaces.
New building permits have been filed for a four-story single-family dwelling at 243 Staples Avenue in Sunnyside, San Francisco. The proposal will replace an existing house around the corner from the City College of San Francisco Campus. Sunnyvale-based Element Custom Homes is listed as the design architect.
New details have been published for two 17-story apartment buildings and a new public park to replace the former Transbay Temporary Bus Terminal in SoMa, San Francisco. Transbay Block 2 and 3 represent two-thirds of the full-block property. The projects are overseen by the Office of Community Investment and Infrastructure, i.e., the OCII.
