Facebook and Signature Release New Renderings of Willow Village, Menlo Park

Facebook and Signature Development Group have announced that they have submitted newly detailed planning documents for their proposed mixed-use district dubbed Willow Village in Menlo Park, San Mateo County. The proposal will cover nearly 60 acres with a mixture of housing, office space, retail, and public parks. Two phases of construction will yield over 3.3 million square feet of built area. OMA, one of the most influential architecture firms still active, is responsible for the design.

New building permits have been filed for constructing a six-story mixed-use building at 2750 19th Street, to be known as the Fitzgerald, in the Mission District, San Francisco. The project will bring sixty-three residential units and 10,560 square feet of light industrial use. Align Real Estate is responsible for the development.

Planning documents are currently under review for a mixed-use development at 701 Harrison Street in SoMa, San Francisco. The 100-foot structure will bring just under 50,000 square feet of office space along with 8,540 square feet of retail. Aralon Properties is responsible for the project as the property owner.

New building permits have been approved for the construction of a new health center at 3800 Florin Road in the Parkway neighborhood in Sacramento. The project will create a new home for the Sacramento Native American Health Center, a community-owned center run by Native Americans for the general public.

Number 52: MIRA at 160 Folsom Street in SoMa, San Francisco

There’s a new project afoot. SFYIMBY plans to highlight the 52 tallest skyscrapers planned and completed in San Francisco as of January 1st, 2021. This list will include towers nearly a century old and projects that haven’t even broken ground. We start with 52nd place, Studio Gang’s MIRA at 160 Folsom Street in SoMa, San Francisco. The 422-foot tower opened its doors last year, but even before opening, the building has garnered significant attention with a twisting facade responding to the city’s historic architectural vernacular.

The Planning Commission will review plans for the construction of a six-story mixed-use building at 1324-1326 Powell Street in Chinatown, San Francisco. The development will bring 17 units to a parcel containing a vacant structure. The city staff recommendation is for the planning commission to approve the project. New building permits have been filed to construct a 169-residence mixed-use structure at 2150 Kittredge Street, a heavily-trafficked location between the UC Berkeley Campus and the BART station in downtown Berkeley. The development will rise up to the city’s height limit of 75 feet, matching the scale of almost every building in the city center. The design team, Kava Massih Architects, is responsible for the application.

Design review permits have been filed for the seven-story mixed-use development of 1116 18th Street in Midtown Sacramento, between Kayak Alley and L Street. The construction will be an infill-project to bring 25 new apartments, 3,490 square feet for a restaurant, and 2,825 square feet of offices. SKK Developments is behind the proposal.

A recent planning application shows new details about the 120-foot proposal for 1125 Market Street in SoMa, San Francisco. The document describes a shift of use, increasing co-working space by fifty percent and decreasing hotel rooms by ten percent. Pacific Eagle Holdings, an offshoot of the Hong Kong-based Great Eagle Holdings Ltd., is the project sponsor.

Notice of Public Hearing Circulating for 550 Howard Street, SoMa, San Francisco

The San Francisco Planning Department has circulated a notice to the public that the development for 550 Howard Street in SoMa, San Francisco, is heading to the Planning Commission on January 28th. The document provides updated building stats for the tower, including a 50-foot decrease in height since our last coverage. Regardless, at 750 feet, the Transbay Parcel F tower is the tallest active project in the Bay Area’s pipeline. Hines is responsible for the development.
