The Freedom West 2.0 developer team has filed a Preliminary Project Assessment application for the mixed-use Freedom West development at 710 McAllister Street in the Fillmore District of San Francisco. New documents provide greater insight and information about the $2 billion mixed-use expansion of the existing 382-unit non-profit housing co-op. This includes plans for residents to retain ownership while moving into market-rate quality units at no additional cost or rise in co-op fees. The Freedom West Homes Corporation is joined by the project sponsor MacFarlane Partners and Avanath Capital Management as the Freedom West 2.0 joint development team.

New plans are currently under review for a fifty-percent increase of housing in a proposed residential building at 4712-4720 3rd Street in Bayview, San Francisco. The revision of plans uses the HOME-SF, the city’s local density bonus program, and increases the 13-unit proposal to 21 units with affordable housing. The San Francisco-based CTW Home Improvement Inc owner is responsible for the developer as the property owner.

New building permits have been filed for a multi-purpose adaptive reuse of a commercial building at 952-960 Howard Street in SoMa, San Francisco. The development more than doubles the built area on-site while shifting the building use from primarily industrial to primarily offices. Oakland-based oWow is the project developer and property owner.

With design by Kerman Morris Architects, the application represents nearly a doubling in residential space from 2016-era filings. Development Permits Under Review for 550 East Brokaw Road, North San Jose

Plans for a high-density seven-building office development are currently under review for 550 East Brokaw Road in North San Jose. The proposal will create approximately two million square feet of office space and about 858,000 square feet of parking area on-site, tripling the existing built area. Bay West Development is responsible for the proposal.

Earlier this month, Westbank released their master vision for five skyline-defining developments across downtown San Jose. Today, we highlight The Orchard, producing two towers at 300 South 1st Street and the third tower at 409 South 2nd Street, called The Orchard Workspace and The Orchard Residential. The Orchard yields over two million square feet combined, producing a campus of offices, housing, retail, and restaurants.

New building permits have been filed for a 37-story mixed-use tower at 98 Franklin Street in the Civic Center neighborhood of San Francisco. The city’s Planning Department approved the development in May of 2020, allowing for construction on top of surface parking at the corner of Oak and Franklin with a small parcel of land, allowing construction to extend to Market Street. Related Companies is responsible for the development.

Three-Story Structure Planned For 3214-3216 24th Street In Mission District, San Francisco
