Filed in 2018, plans by Onni Group and IBI Group proposed a 638-foot tall apartment tower and a 16-story office building that would launch Emeryville, a dense city between Berkeley and Oakland, into the Bay Area’s skyline. Eventually, plans for the tower were withdrawn in 2020. Now, a new developer expects to build at 5801-5861 Christie Avenue, but with a significantly reduced profile.
Demolition permits have been filed ahead of construction for the six-story residential infill at 4550 Mission Street in Outer Mission, San Francisco. The project will replace two existing commercial buildings with 69 new rental homes, including 17 affordable units. David Chen is responsible for the application via ANJE LLC.
Units have hit the market for The Benton, a six-story apartment complex now addressed at 588 El Camino Real in Santa Clara. The development includes 355 rental apartments and ground-floor retail nearby the city train station and the Santa Clara University Campus. The Prometheus Real Estate Group is responsible for the project.
A preliminary application has been filed seeking the approval of a mixed-use project at 3824 Foothill Boulevard in Oakland. The project proposal includes the development of a mixed-use facility offering residential and commercial spaces. Plans call for the demolition of a series of one and two-story commercial and residential buildings on the site. Tecta Associates is the project applicant.
The Sustainable Communities Environmental Assessment has been filed for 1100 El Camino Real, starting the public review period by the City of Millbrae, in San Mateo County. The mixed-use project aims to create 384 new homes and a new hotel a little over a mile away from BART, Caltrain, and SFO. Anton DevCo is the project developer.
