Developers have requested a preliminary review for a 25-story mixed-use tower at 98 South 2nd Street in Downtown San Jose. The proposal will make adaptive re-use of the existing brick facade that had housed Cinebar, a local mainstay lost to a four-alarm fire in January of 2021. San Jose-based contractor Swenson Builders is responsible for the application via Green Valley Corporation.
The development team has requested a project review meeting with the San Francisco planning department regarding expanded plans for a ten-story residential development with affordable housing at 2588 Mission Street in the Mission District. After California increased the State Density Bonus program from 35% to 50% this year, the proposal now includes 182 units, greater than previous plans for 148 units. San Francisco-based Ian Birchall and Associates is responsible for the architecture.
The 25th tallest skyscraper in San Francisco planned or built is One Front Street. The distinctive Shell-Haus-inspired office tower opened in the Financial District in 1979 between Battery and Market Street. One Front Street, formerly known as Shaklee Terraces, rises 538 feet tall above street level with design by Skidmore Owings & Merrill.
New information has been released ahead of the San Francisco Planning Commission meeting tomorrow about the Foster + Partners-designed Block 7A tower in Potrero Power Station development in Dogpatch. The 264-foot tall building will create 325 new apartments on top of ground-level retail overlooking the Power Station public park.
Permits have been filed seeking the review of a new mixed-use development at 2902 Adeline Street in South Berkeley. The project proposal includes the construction of a six-story mixed-use building offering residential and commercial spaces. The project requires the demolition of one residential building and one mixed-use development. Realtex Apartments LLC is the project applicant and property owner. Trachtenberg Architects is managing the design concepts and construction.
