Extensive Renderings Published For 447 Almaden Boulevard, Downtown San Jose Ahead of Meeting

The proposal for a 282-foot tall mixed-use development at 447 Almaden Boulevard in Downtown San Jose is expected to be reviewed in tonight’s Planning Commission hearing. The project would total over two million square feet, including offices, retail, and amenities. Along with the review of the South Almaden Offices, the fifth resubmission for the project is paired with a treasure-trove of renderings that give an all-encompassing impression of the future block. Boston Properties is responsible for the development as the project owner.

Renderings Revealed, Meeting for Hotel at 312 Brokaw Road, Santa Clara

Plans have been revealed for a 6-story hotel at 312 Brokaw Road, Santa Clara, sandwiched between Gateway Crossing and the San Jose International Airport. The project would add 396 new hotel guest rooms to the market, along with dining and event space. Within the building, 206 rooms will be under the Extended Stay brand, with 190 rooms for a limited services hotel brand.

Meeting Scheduled For a Commercial Building At 5850 Shellmound Way, Emeryville

Permits have been filed seeking the approval of a commercial project at 5850 Shellmound Way in Emeryville. The project proposal includes the development of a fourteen-story building offering spaces for retail and research & development use. Plans also call for the demolition of an existing office building spanning an area of 61,000 square feet. Shellmound Christie Corporation is the property owner. Solomon Cordwell Buenz is responsible for the design concepts and construction.

An updated design has been revealed along with down-sized plans for 2205 Mission Street in San Francisco’s Mission District. The proposal will create 63 new dwelling units, of which half will be sold below-market rate. Mission Economic Development Agency, i.e., MEDA, is responsible for the development as the property owner.

Enhanced preliminary permits have been filed for Apollo, a proposed 16-story mixed-use tower at 32 Stockton Avenue in San Jose. The development will rise next to Google’s city-altering Downtown West development by Diridon Station. Apollo would add 406 new units to the city’s housing market. Urban Catalyst is responsible for the development.

New renderings have been revealed for the proposed six-story home of the American Buddhist Cultural Society at 1750 Van Ness Avenue in Nob Hill, San Francisco. The institution first revealed the project in 2016 after a preliminary project assessment filing. A public hearing is to be held Thursday, September 9th, during which the city’s Planning Commission could approve the project for CEQA and push the religious facility closer to construction.

New renderings have been revealed ahead of a planning commission hearing for a mixed-use mid-rise building at 490 Brannan Street in SoMa, San Francisco. The project would replace an existing commercial structure and surface parking a 185-foot tall building with offices, space for the arts, child-care, and retail. Strada Investment Group is behind the proposal after acquiring the property in 2015.
