Permits have been filed for the residential expansion of 2390 Chestnut Street in the neighborhood of Cow Hollow in the Marina District, San Francisco. The permit calls for the interior renovation of the structure along with six additional dwelling units, increasing the density of the structure. The apartments will replace what is currently used as storage and garage space.
Construction for the billion dollar 5M is progressing quickly, with the largest building already near topping out sixteen months after groundbreaking in SoMa, San Francisco. The project will produce six structures, three new, three historic restorations. This includes the former headquarters of the San Francisco Chronicle newspaper, owned by Brookfield Properties’ partner for the development, Hearst. The master plan is by SITELAB Urban Studio, guided by the stated mission to create a privately funded arts- and community-oriented mixed-use district. Permits have been filed for a large multifamily project at 242 Hahn Street in Sunnydale, San Francisco. Plans for the site call for a 167-unit multifamily structure as part of the Sunnydale HOPE SF project, for the projected cost of $80 million. 242 Hahn will contribute to the 1,770 new apartments expected for the sprawling mid-density development.
A large, affordable housing project is planned for 2330 Monroe Street in the city of Santa Clara. The building, rising two to three floors, will contain 65 apartments. Units will range in size from studios to three bedrooms, twenty percent of which will be set aside for people with developmental disabilities. Freebird Development company is responsible for the development.

Four of the units will be duplexes, located on the ground and second floors of the structure connected with a spiral staircase.
