The Draft Environmental Impact Report has been published for Orchard Residential, a 30-story mixed-use tower at 409 South 2nd Street in Downtown San Jose. The publication of the Draft EIR starts a 45-day period for public input to influence the Final EIR. Orchard Residential is part of the Westbank Campus, a joint venture with the Canadian developer Westbank and Urban Community.
Updated plans have been published along with permits for an 11-story residential infill at 530 Turk Street in San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood. The proposal will replace a surface parking lot with 100 homes and retail space. JS Sullivan Development is responsible for the application.
Earlier this month, Mayor London Breed announced the opening of the Garland Hotel at 505 O’Farrell Street in Tenderloin, San Francisco. The project proposal includes the development of permanent supportive housing units. The project is a part of Mayor Breed’s Homelessness Recovery Plan, announced in July 2020, which includes the largest one-time expansion of PSH in 20 years.
Development permits have been filed seeking the approval of a residential project at 749 Grant Avenue in Chinatown, San Francisco. The project proposal includes the addition of a two-story residence to an existing two-story commercial building. Remodeling of the basement is also proposed. XIE Associates Architectural Design & Planning is responsible for the design concepts.
The San Francisco Planning Commission is scheduled to review plans for an eight-story mixed-use infill at 744 Harrison Street in SoMa, San Francisco. The project will replace a two-story commercial structure on a skinny 4,000 square foot lot with a new tourist hotel, group housing, and ground-level retail. Leon Lee & Associates are responsible for the development as the property owner.
