Permits Filed for New Mixed Use Building on Cedar Street in West Berkeley

A single-family home at 811 Cedar Street in Berkeley is to be demolished and reconstructed in to a mixed-use office and residential space. The building will rise 34 feet high near the Corner of Cedar Street and Sixth Street, creating a notable increase in prominence compared to the existing 18-foot structure. Stackhouse De la Peña Trachtenberg Architects are responsible for the new building designs.

New Apartment Building Opens at 2001 Ashby Avenue in Berkeley

Resources for Community Development has opened a six-story and 87-unit project located at 2001 Ashby Avenue in South Berkeley. The project, named after Councilwoman Maudelle Miller Shirek, was first brought in 2021, with ground-breaking occurring in 2022. Delays caused the building to overshoot its projected opening date in 2024, but the project has now made it to completion, and is moving in tenants.

Mixed Use Development Narrowly Approved in Los Gatos

The Los Gatos City Council voted 3-2 in favor of moving forward on a large mixed-use development located at 143-151 East Main Street, just across the street from Los Gatos High School in Santa Clara County. The 52 foot tall building is brought by developers Capstack Partners, with designs by Kenneth Rodriguez and Partners.
