Alameda County has started accepting applications for affordable rental units in the Maudelle Miller Shirek Community Building in South Berkeley. The six-story project is offering 86 units across from the Ashby BART Station and near Berkeley Bowl. Prospective residents will have until February 12th to apply for the lottery drawing.
A preliminary application has been submitted for a housing project proposed at 200, 211, and 215 North 16th Street in Sacramento. The project proposal includes the construction of more than 500 homes. Bauen Capital is the project developer. BDE Architecture is responsible for the design, with previous designs from Vrilakas Groen. Cunningham Engineering is responsible for landscape architecture.
The Draft Environmental Impact Report has been published for the Seely Avenue mixed-use project in North San Jose, Santa Clara County, marking a significant step toward approval. The project will redevelop a 22-acre plot of undeveloped land with over a thousand residential units, including apartments, townhomes, and affordable housing. Hanover Company is the project developer.
New development permits have been submitted seeking the approval of a new housing project at 3736 Stockton Boulevard in Oak Park, Sacramento. The project proposal includes the construction of a mixed-use building offering spaces for residential and retail uses.
Some residents have never been happy with plans for 955 Sansome Street, starting with the preliminary seven-story application in 2021 for the corner lot by Telegraph Hill in San Francisco. Since then, three iterations have gone through the planning department, steadily growing to ten floors, then sixteen, and now 24 floors tall. The project application states that the proposal “aspires to restore and revitalize an underutilized site while providing much needed higher density housing for the city.”
