$200 Million Assessment Permits Filed for 555 Bryant Street, SoMa, San Francisco

Preliminary Project Assessment permits have been filed for a 160-foot mixed-use development between 555-585 Bryant Street in SoMa, San Francisco. Construction is estimated to cost at least $200 million. Plans drafted by Solomon Cordwell Buenz show the an infill with set-backs to afford more direct sunlight to the asphalt. The assessment permit calls for merging seven lots between Bryant and Welsh Street to create a single 33,000 square foot parcel. If approved, the project will bring five hundred new residencies to the city, of which twenty percent will be affordable.

The San Jose planning commission has provided key approval recommendations to construct a mixed-use residential proposal at 1663 Alum Rock Avenue. The developers have named the project ‘the Little Portugal Gateway,’ for being in the Little Portugal neighborhood of San Jose. It will be a substantial mid-density increase to the currently low-density area. 123 new apartments will be built, ranging from studios to two-beds. Project Highlight: The Transbay Parcel F Tower at 550 Howard Street

Across the Bay Area, an array of large and significant projects have been progressing in the background, or with semi-recent news from before, we started SF YIMBY last month. 550 Howard Street in SoMa is one such project, and it’s a big one. Its construction permits were approved In mid-January of this year, clearing the way for the fourth tallest skyscraper in the Bay Area. Once complete, it will stand beside the Transbay Terminal 800 feet tall, designed by the Salesforce Tower’s same firm, Pelli Clarke Pelli.
