A new draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) has been released for a project proposed at 1125 Arguello Street in Redwood City. The project proposal includes the construction of a mixed-use building offering office and residential spaces. Plans call to replace several low-rise commercial structures and asphalt with hundreds of thousands of square feet of office space, a few dozen units of affordable housing, and a childcare facility.

Affordable Housing Rises at 600 7th Street in SoMa, San Francisco

Construction has started for the new eight-story affordable housing project by Mercy Housing at 600 7th Street in SoMa, San Francisco. The development, named 7th and Brannan, will add 221 new apartments near the Caltrain San Francisco Station railyard and T Third Street lightrail extension connecting SoMa to Union Square and Chinatown. Over half of the apartments will be designated for formerly homeless adults and families.

Pre-Application Filed for 2800 Telegraph Avenue, South Berkeley

The pre-application permit has been filed for the six-story residential infill at 2800 Telegraph Avenue in South Berkeley, Alameda County. The new filing comes with a new floor and three more units than the initial filing in June of last year. With 16 units, the proposal will replace a low-slung commercial structure with 16 large apartments. Trachtenberg Architects is responsible for the design.
