Authorization for the second and final phase for Brannan Square in SoMa, San Francisco, is heading to the city’s planning commission. The second phase will include the construction of 211,600 square feet of office space and 11,050 square feet for retail with light industrial use in one of three planned new buildings. New building permits have been filed for a seven-story mixed-use project at 2023 Shattuck Avenue in Downtown Berkeley. The proposal will create 48 studio apartments in the heart of the college city, including four units affordable for very-low-income individuals. The 74-foot structure will produce 24,200 square feet, with eight units on each 3,500 square foot floor. Mevlanarumi LLC is responsible for the development.

Hotel Plans Progress for 8 Almaden Boulevard, Downtown San Jose

Santa Clara County Superior Court has upheld approval for KT Urban to build the 19-story Moxy Hotel at 8 Almaden Boulevard in downtown San Jose. The development will add 272 new hotel rooms with retail to the urban core of Silicon Valley, packing inside the high-rise. The 225-foot tower will yield 146,282 square feet, with a Floor Area Ratio of 16.7. Guest rooms will occupy floors three to eighteen, while the ground level includes an open lounge and a restaurant with a bar. Guests and visitors alike will also have access to a bar on the 19th floor with skyline views.
