$400 Million Renovation Project Starts with San Francisco’s Iconic Transamerica Pyramid

Construction work has begun on the renovation of San Francisco’s most iconic skyscraper, the Transamerica Pyramid. The project is led by the New York City-based property owner, SHVO, with design by Foster + Partners. Focused on the public open space and the pyramid’s interiors, phase one will reemphasize the iconic modernist design inside, update the offices, increase on-site amenities, and lease 45,000 square feet for a Manhattan-based elite social club, all in a bid to elevate the pyramid from a visual marvel into a magnetic destination for both tenants and the public.

Construction Nearly Complete for 1064 Mission Street, SoMa, San Francisco

Construction has topped out and scaffolding removed for 1064 Mission Street, a six-story permanent supportive housing project in SoMa, San Francisco. The building will soon open with 256 studio apartments for adults and seniors in the city. 1064 Mission is a joint venture with the Mayor’s Office of Housing and Community Development, Mercy Housing, and the Episcopal Community Services.

Over Quarter Billion Dollars in Funding Secured for 1330 South Bascom Avenue, San Jose

Construction funding has been secured for 1330 South Bascom Avenue, a large eight-story multi-family building in west San Jose. The development team received $284 million from an Australian pension and retirement fund to build The Maxwell, the nearly six hundred unit apartment component of the transit-oriented South Bascom Gateway Station masterplan. Newmark announced in a press release that construction is expected to start by the end of the month.
