The Conditional Use Authorization permit has been filed by the developers for 465 Grove Street, with plans for a new mixed-use building in Hayes Valley, San Francisco. The proposal will demolish the existing Days Inn Hotel and a neighboring residential structure along Grove Street. Construction will include replacements for the housing, SRO rooms, and expand the hotel function on-site from 36 to 100 guest rooms.

Today, Santa Clara’s Development Review Hearing is scheduled to review plans for Clara Gardens, a fully affordable residential complex at 3550 El Camino Real. The housing proposal will preserve an existing hotel and replace surface parking with a seven-story apartment building. Berkeley-based RCD Housing is responsible for the project as the property owner.
The pre-application permit has been filed for a small residential infill at 10520 MacArthur Boulevard by Foothill Square in Oakland. The proposal will build on top of a single-story medical facility at the corner of MacArthur and 106th Avenue, adding three residential floors. The Victorian-era home to Poor House Bistro has been moved from 91 South Autumn Street to 317 West St. John Street in Little Italy, San Jose. The relocation comes ahead of Downtown West, Google’s massive plans to redevelop the low-density area surrounding Diridon Station with high-density offices, housing, and retail. Project site maps indicate 91 South Autumn Street will be replaced with an office building.
A pre-application permit has been filed for residential plans at 430 Broadway, in Oakland, located by Jack London Square. Additional reporting states the developers are planning yet more housing at the vacant structure on 401 Broadway, with roughly 600 new homes in the works. The filing is by Related and the East Bay Asian Local Development Corporation.
