Design review permits have been filed for the four-story research and development space at 600 Bancroft Way in Southwest Berkeley, Alameda County. The project would bring a quarter million square feet of office space for the life science industry during a period of high vacancies but signs of optimism for prospective developers. Burlingame-based Woodstock Development is responsible for the application on behalf of the property owner, Invesco Real Estate.

Preliminary permits have been filed for an affordable housing complex at 258 28th Street just north of Downtown Oakland, Alameda County. The project aims to replace a vacant two-story apartment building at the end of 28th Street, close to Broadway. Gunkel Architecture is responsible for filing the application.

Preliminary permits have been filed to convert an office building in Downtown San Jose into housing. The plans aim to bring around 133 units to the nine-story complex at 152 North 3rd Street. C2K Architecture is responsible for the application and design.

Permit activity has been spotted for the 15-story affordable senior housing proposal at 1939 Market Street by the Castro, San Francisco. The Mayor’s Office of Housing and Community Development has filed a planning application to establish a long-term ground lease for Mercy Housing to take control of the site to build housing for residents within the LGBTQ community. Mercy Housing is the project developer.

Donner Field Senior Apartments Permits Filed in Oak Park, Sacramento

New building permits have been filed for a new senior affordable housing project at 4501 9th Avenue in Oak Park, Sacramento. The Donner Field Senior Apartments will replace an open lawn by the busy Stockton Boulevard thoroughfare with several dozen apartments. Eden Housing is the project developer.

Draft EIR Published for San Jose State University Masterplan

California State University has published the Draft Environmental Impact Report for the San Jose State University campus master plan in San Jose, Santa Clara County. The plans aim to significantly increase the school facilities, housing for students & staff, and facilities in the South Campus. Construction is expected to occur during four phases across twenty years.
