The filing will reshape the 2.5-acre property with 380 homes, including some affordable units, across from the city’s tallest buildings in Palo Alto Square. Acclaim Companies is the project owner.
New building permits have been filed for the nine-story affordable housing plan at 1515 South Van Ness Avenue in San Francisco’s Mission District. The 168-unit infill has been designated a priority by the Mayor’s Office of Housing and Community Development to streamline approval. Chinatown Community Development Center and the Mission Economic Development Agency are jointly responsible for the project.
New permits have been filed for three-story townhomes at 2832 34th Street in Oak Park, Sacramento. The urban infills will replace a vacant parcel close to shops, a park, and a high school, with four homes. Creates Cool is the project architect and applicant.
New details have been published for the six-story mixed-use infill at 2201 San Pablo Avenue in Southwest Berkeley, Alameda County. The project will create 65 apartments, using the state density bonus program to increase residential capacity and designate six as affordable housing units. Principal architect of IFR, Ian F. Ream, is listed as the project applicant.
Construction has finished for Google’s first mass-timber office at 1265 Borregas Avenue in Moffett Park, Sunnyvale. The site is now adorned by Mothership, a two-ton sculpture by Mike Whiting that pays homage to the original Atari headquarters that preceded the new office. The project is one of the first in the Bay Area to use the burgeoning sustainable construction material.
